“The popularity of this type of collective business model can be attributed to its financial viability. With the average startup costs for a small brewery running between $65,000 to $200,000,those figures don’t seem nearly as daunting if 300 people are all contributing a small amount towards the goal. Therein lies the beauty of a collective, or cooperative business model. Though the rewards of running a business are spread out amongst many people, so too are the risks.”
