Sunday, August 24th from 2:00 to 7:00 pm at Riverside Park along the Grand River just north of downtown Grand Rapids.
Join us for our second official sixer mixer and Kickstarter launch party at the Island Pavilion inside Riverside Park as we bring together our amazing community of passionate beer enthusiasts in support of building our very own co-op brewery! We’ll be providing some member donated home brew in kegs for those attending and encourage you to contribute to the community coolers with your own labeled home brew, cellar treasure, or other favorite brew you just have to share!
Our last mixer filled four coolers full of some of the most interesting beer we’ve ever seen! This time we’re shooting to double our attendance and create a truly unique selection of professional and home brewed beers for our community of supporters to enjoy free of charge! The power of collaboration, right?!
We’ll also be doing a drawing for everyone in attendance to give away some cool new High Five swag and give back to everyone supporting our effort!
You don’t have to be a member of the co-op to attend the event, we actually highly encourage non-members to come out and share in the fun! So, members bring a friend!
This event is 21+ and we will be checking ID’s.
Please RSVP HERE and help us promote the event by sharing the page. Besides, this is YOUR co-op, help spread the word and grow our community of supporters so we can build our actual brewery sooner!Read More
The High Five Co-op Brewery board election results are in! We were very pleased with the quality of all of the candidates that ran, and we’re sorry that not everyone can have a board seat. We hope those individuals who did not get elected will still lend their valuable insight and experience in advising the board. Our members elected the following directors:
Jorel Van Os
We had a 63% voter turnout rate. The four individuals with the most votes shall serve two year terms, and the next three individuals with the most votes will serve one year terms. The new board will meet in the coming weeks to elect officers among themselves.
We want to thank everyone who ran and everyone who participated. Thank you also to all past High Five directors for serving your co-op. Democracy is a huge part of what make co-ops so great!Read More
Sunday, May 18th 2:00pm at The Factory, downtown Grand Rapids.
The Annual Members’ Assembly is where the democracy happens! This event is designed to let the voice of the High Five Co-op’s membership be heard. Come out and chat with your Board of Directors, get updates, enjoy some donated High Five Member’ home brew, and celebrate our co-op’s progress.
We’ll be holding elections for our Board of Directors at this year’s Members’ Assembly, and if you’re a member of the co-op you’re eligible to run for a position. Just e-mail us at Board@nullbeer.coop to request an application for Board Nomination. There will also be an online referendum vote lasting 14 days after the actual Members’ Assembly for members unable to attend the assembly.
The Members’ Assembly is not a members only event! In fact, we encourage public attendance and guest home brew! However, you must be a member of the co-op to participate in any voting, including board elections.
